Baby A-line Dress

When one of our friends invited us to his daughters first birthday I squealed with glee. It gave me the opportunity to pull out a pattern I bought online from The Tie Dye Diva. I searched eBay and found some Packers fabric. I was happy how it turned out and it was well received on the day.

The Royal Easter Show

Yesterday I had pleasure of visiting the Royal Easter Show. The main reason I go is to visit the arts and crafts pavilion. It’s so inspirational. The standard of work is exceptional. I’d love to enter something but I think I need a few more years under my belt first.

Valentines Day 2012

With the expected arrival of bubs, we both decided to keep Valentines fairly low key. I made hubby a quilted card file to store any personal letters and cards he might like to keep, a hand made card and hand made envelope. I was very happy with how all the items turned out.

Christmas 2012 Crafts

I love Christmas. It’s a time of creative madness for me, usually a little too much tinsel and seeing family and friends.

This year I made quite a few items. Here are just a hand full of the items made.

All the cards were made from scratch using mainly scrapbooking materials.

This stocking used a combination of techniques including patchwork, needle turn applique and cross stitch. I hope that this stocking will stay in the family as a heirloom.

Quilt for Baby to be

For the past 3 days I have been working on a quilt to give to my baby to be. I found the Stella Pattern online at the Killara Village Quilt shop. I bought the pattern and fabric for only $38.
Tonight I just finished piecing together the main part of the quilt. I plan on putting a few borders around it to inject a bit more colour.

The hard part is figuring out how I’m going to record the details on to the quilt. I’m thinking perhaps a simple cross stitch which I can then sew on to the quilt (yes, thank you to Sonia for picking up the error ‘baby’ instead of ‘quilt’. What was I thinking?)

Kwik Sew Maternity Top 3326

It’s been a while since my last post. That’s what happens when you find out you are pregnant and then feel sick for the next 3-4 months. The worst is over now and I feel up to sewing again. I started this last week. I’m doing the long sleeved version. It took a week to cut out the fabric which is my least favourite job. It’s only taken 3-4 hours to get this far. I’ve only got the sleeves and then the hem to go. I reackon I’ll finish it tonight assuming my lovely husband decides to cook dinner.

The fabric is Liberty of London’s Citrus Delfie Tana Lawn from tessuti fabrics at Chatswood. Not a cheap fabric at $45 a meter but I once you sew with it, it’s hard to use any other cotton fabric.

Circus Quilt

I’m making an effort this year to use up the materials in my craftroom in an effort to tighten my belt. After rummaging through everything I came across a circus quilt pack that I had purchased from the craft fair at Darling Harbour last year. I bought it from the Fairies in my Garden stand (http://www.faeriesinmygarden.com.au). So far so good.
